text_line_height=&#8221;2em&#8221; header_font=&#8221;Mada|700|||||||&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; inline_fonts=&#8221;Mada&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<h2>Recertification Overview<\/h2>\n<h4 data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Eligibility Requirements:<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>To recertify your CRNI\u00ae\ufe0f credential, you must meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hold a current, active, and unrestricted RN license.<\/li>\n<li><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">Documentation of 1,000 hours of clinical experience in infusion therapy within the previous three years is required to recertify. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">Clinical bedside experience is not a requirement.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\"> Nursing experience may be in the areas of nursing education, administration, research, or clinical practice within the infusion specialty. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">1,000 hours over three years equates to 6.5 hours per week or roughly 18% of a 36-hour week dedicated to infusion therapy. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">In addition, 40 Recertification units, which translates into 80 contact hours, must be earned within a three -year timeframe prior to recertifying, This time frame provides an acceptable level of knowledge to adequately renew one\u2019s certification. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Recertification Deadlines:<\/span><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>If you pass the <strong>March exam<\/strong>, your certification period begins on April 1. The certification will expire 3 years later on\u00a0<strong>April 1<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>If you pass the\u00a0<strong>September exam,\u00a0<\/strong>your certification period will begin on October 1. The certification will expire 3 years later on\u00a0<strong>October 1.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>If you passed the exam <strong>before<\/strong> <strong>2018<\/strong>, the certification expires every 3 years on <strong>January 1, <\/strong>regardless of when you took the exam.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Recertification Roadmap:<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">To help you prepare for recertification, INCC has created a 3-year\u00a0<\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ins1.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/3-Year-Plan-2023.pdf\" class=\"editor-rtfLink\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Recertification Plan<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">. Opting for one of these plans will streamline the recertification process, making it both time and cost-efficient.
